Raingardens capture and slow stormwater and reduce flooding in downstream pipes and rivers. We manage all aspects of raingarden projects, from design to digging, installation and maintenance. Some local governments offer a credit for the raingardens and rainbarrels we install.
No planting can be successful without a solid foundation, and all too often, soil quality and drainage are considered too late or not at all. We make changes that keep puddles away from structures and off paths, and channel water to raingardens and plantings that soak it up. We understand how soil slope and structure impact your site and have the tools to move and improve soils to make a project work from the ground up.
Up-cycled concrete, reclaimed bricks, rescued perennials — all of our projects consider how existing materials can reinforce a site’s history and reduce the ecological footprint of the installation. When existing materials won’t do, we love Michigan sandstone as natural seams or cut for using as stairs or curbs.
